Speakers use electromagnets that create magnetic field allowing current to flow through. These electromagnets are attatched to the speaker through which the sound pulses travel to you. The pitch you hear depends on the frequency of vibrations while the volume depends on amplitude of the sound waves.When you turn the base up in your car, the booming you hear is created by low frequency sound waves at high amplitudes. These vibrations can cause objects around to resonate, therefore you can feel it too (:
